This is an amalgamation of a few different recipe ideas for Maple Butter. it has a subtle maple flavour, and isn’t overly sweet. Thanks to our sister in law Joan for the comment that spurred the experiment.
1/2 cup Real Maple Syrup
1/2 cup Salted Butter – softened to room temperature
In a saucepan on the stove over medium heat, slowly heat up the syrup boils off most of the water. Take up to around 220 degrees, then remove from heat. Allow to cool to room temperature.
Whip softened butter in a bowl until slightly fluffy. Slowly add room temperature syrup to butter with mixer on low speed.
Once fully incorporated, turn up mixer and whip until creamy, light and fluffy.
Transfer to a bowl for serving. Can be refrigerated, just make sure to allow it time to warm up before serving.
